Los Angeles is so spread out that you'll likely want to stay close to
where you are doing business. If on the west side, Century City makes a
good hub and offers a range of hotels. There is the plush Century Plaza
Hotel Tower on Avenue of the Stars. The nearby Century City Inn Suites
is less than half the price.
Downtown hotels cater to travelers attending the convention center.
Wyndham Commerce Hotel is a favorite with young business people, the New Otani attracts Asian business
travelers, and there are plenty of inexpensive choices as well.
You might also consider staying near LAX. Unlike many large cities,
Los Angeles' airport is quite close to the city and is located on the
shore. It is only a 20-minute drive to both downtown and the beach
cities (many airline staffers live in Marina del Ray.) There are
dozens of hotels and motels in the area, many providing bus service to
both downtown and the airport terminals. Century Plaza and Doubletree
Hotel are two. If you are looking for budget accommodations, the
Hampton Inn might fit the bill.
